In July 2022, Mission of Grace started their first trade school. After seeing so many young women looking for jobs and unable to find them due to civil unrest in the country, lack of jobs, and lack of education, we have decided to teach these young women how to sew.
Currently there are 13 young women between the ages of 21-31 that have enrolled. Many of these young women have children with no husbands to help them, so they were anxious to learn a new trade that would help them find jobs to take care of their families.
This is a 1 year course that they will graduate from. The professor is from Port-Au-Prince and does an excellent job in teaching these young ladies. After they have graduated, these women will be able to open their own businesses and can even start teaching others the skills that they've learned.
We are so excited about this program and would like to say a special thank you to Team Haiti and everyone else who has made this possible. We are so grateful for all of the support thus far.
If you would like to donate towards this program, your donation will help us pay the professor, buy supplies, buy gas for electricity in order to have working sewing machines, and so much more.
We thank you for your genorosity!
