To all of our family and friends we just wanted to say a big thank you for all of your love and support and prayers this past month.
Mission of Grace has entered into 2017 in full swing. Grace Community School will be finishing its 2nd semester in April. The students are really enjoying school. We are continuing to work on finishing the new school building so we can move in in September. Our teachers are doing a great job. Continue to pray for them for patience and endurance to finish the year strong.
Grace Community Medical Clinic sees over 70 patients a day. Many people walk for over an hour to come and be seen by our doctor. We are so thankful that they have a place they can come and be taken care of. We are also doing a lot of teaching in regards to high blood pressure and prenatal care. We are starting to see a much healthier community.
Grace Community Church continues to grow. We have weekly men’s and woman’s bible study along with many children’s activities throughout the week. We are preparing for our community wedding in March, we are excited to marry between 6-12 couples.
Grace Community Elderly Home has had the honor of receiving 1 elderly gentleman and 2 elderly woman in the past 2 months. The smile on their faces are pricless knowing that they don’t have to worry about where their next meal will come from or where they will sleep that night. They can rest knowing that they are taken care of and loved. We did have one of our grandmas decide that she wanted to get baptized last month. That was a special day for her.
Grace Community Soup Kitchen is growing and thriving this year. Over 200 people each day come and get a hot bowl of food. Many pregnant ladies, patients from the clinic and also elderly come every day. We have expanded that ministry from 5 days per week to 7 days.
Children of Grace Orphanage is busy as usual with over 65 children. From school, to church, to homework, to baseball practice, to computer classes and so much more, the children are really growing and thriving in a loving and safe environment.
The month of love has been a special one indeed for our Girls' Home! We started with an educational field trip for our teen girls to a local museum. There, they learned about the history of their country, the heartbreaking details of how slaves were treated, how voodoo came about in this nation, and the four soldiers who led the only successful slave revolt in history. All of the girls were bright eyed and ears wide open as they learned details they had never heard before and saw ancient artifacts and items that had been preserved from long ago. It was very informative and they had a wonderful time.
We have also been having weekly Bible studies and teachings with our young women. On Valentines' Day, they were each presented with a love letter from their Heavenly Father, along with a beautiful necklace. Our desire is for them to know that they are deeply loved, chosen, clothed in righteousness, and uniquely special.
The Men of Grace have had a busy month as well! They have been using their skills to install gutters, build tables and benches along with other projects through out the mission. They assisted in building a new addition to the soup kitchen, building a new guard tower at our orphanage, facilitating a soccer clinic and participating in baseball practice.
Our Men of Grace also have begun English classes, Bible studies and life skills classes. The Men of Grace Ministry men could use your continued prayer as they learn the value of accountability and punctuality.
Again, we hope that you enjoyed hearing about the latest news here at Mission of Grace. Thank you for praying for us and supporting us. We truly can not do all that we do each day and take care of so many people with out each of you standing with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you would like to find out more information on how to bring a team, give financially or how to pray for us please visit our website at www.missionofgracehaiti.org or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
