crisis in haiti: how you can help
As everyone know Haiti has been on lockdown for 11 days. The people took the streets because they were tired of the inflation of basic supplies like rice, beans, oil, gas etc. They feel the president needs to leave as since he has been in office things have only gotten worse. So they feel that taking the streets will help them be heard. Because of this lockdown stores are closed, roads are blocked, hospitals are running out of supplies and so much suffering.
We here at Mission of Grace are standing strong. We have evacuated all of our missionaries and long termers. There are only 4 of us left. Ms lynn is standing strong and leading us through the challenges, Ms Kim continues to stand by her side supporting and doing all she can to make sure the mission and community have the resources they need and Adrianne and Salsa stand in the midst of it all with strength and praying unceasingly.
As supplies continue to get low we were able to send some of our staff our February 18 to buy a few things for the next few days. We continue to pray for multiplication of food and money as the banks are closed. We are feeding over 200 people at the soup kitchen and that increases everyday as the supplies in everyones house is slowly depleting and no money or stores open to buy anything.
This week we are sitting at the feet of Jesus asking for an answer. We know He knows the day that this unrest will be finished and He knows the people who are suffering right now, babies, pregnant moms who can’t get to a hospital, elderly who do not have any food, those who are sick who can not get to a hospital and so much more.
We want to thank you for the many financial donations that have some in so far and we ask that those of you who can will consider to give financially as the recovery will be great once the unrest settles. We also want to ask everyone to pray specifically for freedom and peace for Haiti
Pray for restoration of Haiti
Pray for the hearts of the people
Pray for the hearts of the government
Pray that through all the hardship God’s name will be proclaimed.
Thank you again for your support and prayers for Mission of Grace during this time. We could not be still standing if it wasn’t for the Grace of God and so many people praying and supporting us.
Help us provide for the daily needs of the mission and our village by giving a one time or monthly General Donation.
